FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

what does it mean to be a member of vasa?

If you are an undergrad enrolled in art studio classes at the University of Alberta, you’re a VASA member! As a general member, you can have as much or as little involvement as you like.

How can i get involved?

We are a student-run group that is led by an elected executive committee. We elect our executive positions for the upcoming school year every April at our Annual General Meeting

We put out calls for volunteers through email and on social media, so be sure to follow us or send us an email to stay in the loop! We need volunteers for the events we organize throughout the year, like the silent auction in fall semester or the BFA grad show in April. We also coordinate smaller fundraisers like bake sales throughout the year.

what are the benefits of getting involved with vasa?

We strive to build community within the Fine Arts department. We want to create a space where we can meet new people and grow as artists together! Getting involved in VASA events can mean adding a line to your CV, getting an opportunity to show or sell your work, and meeting new people.
